Company Overview:

  • Stampin' Up!, an 19-year-old, $240-million US, direct-sales company, designs and manufactures an exclusive line of decorative rubber stamp sets and offers accessories for home décor, greeting cards, craft projects, and scrapbooking. The company's size and recent growth reflect the growing passion for decorative rubber stamping.
  • Based in Utah with more than 500 employees, Stampin' Up! operates three state-of-the-art facilities: a 300,000-square-foot home office in Riverton, Utah, (a southern suburb of Salt Lake City); a 40,000-square-foot and 80,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Kanab, Utah.
  • Stampin' Up! introduces more than 100 new stamp sets and accessories annually in its full-colour Idea Book & Catalogue.
  • Stampin' Up! products are not sold in stores, but may be purchased at home workshops or through a network of independent sales consultants called Stampin' Up! "demonstrators." Currently, more than 50,000 demonstrators from all 50 US states, Canada, Australia and New Zealand  teach the art of stamping and share their enthusiasm for stamping, scrapbooking, and card making.
  • Stampin' Up!'s line of exclusive decorative rubber stamps are sold in coordinating sets. In 2006, the company sold over 6.5 million stamp sets.

1988 

  • Shelli Gardner and her sister begin selling stamps in Las Vegas.

1989   

  • The sisters move the business to Boulder City, Nevada.

1992 

  • The company begins manufacturing a number of stamp sets available only from Stampin' Up!

1993 

  • Stampin' Up! relocates to Kanab, Utah, where today it serves as the largest private employer in the rural community.

1996 

  • Stampin' Up! opens its corporate office in Salt Lake City.

1997 

  • The Stampin' Up! stamp line becomes exclusive-meaning all stamp sets carried in the catalogue are designed and manufactured by Stampin' Up!

1998 

  • Shelli assumes chair of the board along with CEO duties.

1999 

  • Shelli receives the Utah Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® Award.

2000

  • Stampin' Up! ranked 17th in Utah's Top 25 Revenue Growth Companies and 32nd in Utah's 100 Fastest Growing Companies named by MountainWest Venture Group.

2001 

  • Stampin' Up! ranked 15th in Utah's Top 15 Revenue Growth Companies and 56th in Utah's 100 Fastest Growing Companies by MountainWest Venture Group.

2002 

  • Stampin' Up! Canada opens for business.
  • Stampin' Up! receives the Work/Life Award as one of Utah's Top 10 Family-Friendly companies.

2003

  • Stampin' Up! celebrates its 15th year in business and breaks ground on a new 300,000-square-foot campus. Stampin' Up! announces a national sponsorship with Ronald McDonald House Charities.
  • Stampin' Up! receives the Manufacturer of the Year/Rural Development Award by The Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP.)
  • Stampin' Up! is recognized as one of Utah's top 10 Family-Friendly companies with the Work/Life Award.
  • Stampin' Up! ranks 12th in Utah's Top 15 Revenue Growth Companies and 80th in Utah's 100 Fastest Growing Companies by MountainWest Venture Group.

2004 

  • Stampin' Up! is honoured with the Education for Life Award by the Direct Selling Association (DSA.)
  • Stampin' Up! received the prestigious Best of State Statue (BOSS) for Manufacturing in the State of Utah. Stampin' Up! was also honoured with Best of State medals in the following subcategories: Employer (Community Development), Large Business (Community Development), and Rubber/Plastic Products (Manufacturing).
  • Stampin' Up! ranked 11th in Utah's Top 15 Revenue Growth Companies 92nd in Utah's 100 Fastest Growing Companies by MountainWest Venture Group.
  • Stampin' Up! contributes nearly $83,000 (USD) to the Huntsman Cancer Institute for breast cancer research. 
  • Stampin' Up! moves to its 300,000-square-foot home office in Riverton, Utah.

2005 

  • Stampin' Up! opens for business in Quebec, Canada.
  • Stampin' Up! donates more than $575,000 (USD) to Save the Children for tsunami relief in Asia. 
  • Stampin' Up! receives Utah's prestigious Best of State Statue (BOSS) for Manufacturing. The company was also awarded the Best of State Medal in the Manufacturing subcategory, Rubber/Plastic Products.
  • Stampin' Up! breaks ground on a second manufacturing facility in Kanab, Utah.

2006

  • Stampin' Up! opens for business in Australia
  • Stampin' Up! donates more than $70,000 in the US and Canada to the American Heart Association and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada to assist in the fight against heart disease.
  • Stampin' Up! receives Utah's prestigious Best of State Medal for Manufacturing: Rubber/Plastic Products. The company was also awarded the Best of State Medal in Business Services/Customer Service, and Community Development: Private Sector Large Business.

2007

  • Stampin' Up! opens for business in New Zealand
