June Paper Pumpkin: Banner Surprise

paperpumpkin_june_slider (1)

It’s a card. It’s a banner. Surprise! It’s the Paper Pumpkin Banner Surprise Kit—and we love it! Of course, you already know we love a good surprise, and this one is no exception. Have you ever given a card with a customizable, confetti-filled banner? Well, here’s your chance.

PP_June_component_stamp

The kit includes supplies for six cards, banners, and envelopes. And, you get to decide what greeting to spell out with the gold-foil stickers. It also includes a bonus ink spot to do mix-and-match stamping. It is full of fun surprises!

One of the best things about Paper Pumpkin is the flexibility to get creative with the included supplies. Use the gold stickers on the card front and stamp directly on the cellophane bag. This card uses just one cellophane bag (wrapped around the card front) so you can save the bags for another project, like a bigger banner.

This next card has us all starry-eyed! Grab your Big Shot, Star Framelits, Whisper White Cardstock, and some of the new Foam Adhesive Strips to create an adorable shaker card. A Gold Binder Clip perfectly complements the gold confetti. And the stamps add a fun, splattered effect.

Pull in a few supplies like the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper, Basic Black Baker’s Twine, and the new Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies to create a bold card that is sure to brighten anyone’s birthday. Again, we love the splattered effect and the color combination is so on point!

Mom and daughter here....This was our first Paper Pumpkin and we were very excited about. We were very disappointed to see so many negative comments on here. If you are a PP subscriber you must be a creative crafty person, so....if you don't like the project they sent use your creative juices and design a new card! Not everyone will love every kit but who doesn't love fun new crafting materials and an open canvas to create. The options are endless. There are instructions included with the kit if you can't figure out how to make the given project. Also we love how PP gives other alternative ideas and even lists other supplies you would need for those ideas. WTG PP!!! We will definitely be continuing our subscription and are already looking forward to the fun surprise of opening next month's kit!!!!

I would prefer cards every month but am willing to do other things but could you cut them down to only 3 or 4 times a year ? I'm thankful for all the alternatives that people post.

I signed up with the $7.00 deal too...I was soo excited tracking my package...when I got it and opened it, at first glance, I , too, was VERY disappointed. Last night I sat and watched some videos. Now I am super excited and have already ordered the refill!!! Personalized cards and banners for everyone!!! Excellent!! I also have some of my own confetti with little trucks for two special boys that I want to make a banner/ card for. You don't have to only use the stamps/colours that come in the kit...I am going to change it up...add other greetings and colours as well as other confetti...Can't wait to start crafting...and I will be making a banner with my name on it for my OWN craft room too!!!! Not disappointed anymore!!! Looking forward to next month's kit now :-)

I don't really like the banner. I have no use for it. But the cards are nice. Not big on the plastic triangle bag thingy. Maybe a shaker card or the other card are good. Thanks for some alternatives.

This is my first Pumpkin. I went to PumpkinHowTo.com and didn't find the video or get instructions. How do you find the video? I am not impressed and will be canceling.

I was very disappointed when I opened this kit. I have been subscribed for a year now and this kit made me think about cancelling my subscription. I have very little use for banners and find the contents of the kit limiting to do alternative things with. Please give subscribers a preview for kits before the cut off date so we can skip a month if we don't want to receive a particular kit. I would keep my subscription if this option was available.

I didn't receive the star card that I can make a shaker card out of it Why not ?? Nor did I receive the 'sunshine' sticker or the clip or the foam strips. What's up about that ?? False advertising the way I see it. gb

I like to make cards; not banners or bags etc. If this is what paper pumpkin is, I'm not going want to receive it every month. I don't want to pay for something I don't want and won't use. How do I cancel?

    Sep 25

This was the worst kit that I have gotten. Certainly not enough letters to do different things. Not enough to do a banner for each one. Some of my cello bags had holes in them. From the instructions it seemed that you could do a Happy Banner for each one. Deceiving on that count.

OK. I went to PumpkinHowTo.com and finally found the video. Shouldn't this site link to the instructions? I typed instructions, directions, video, etc., in the search box and came up blank.

Not that impressed. Glad it was only $5! Are we supposed to mail those weird envelopes? I tried to cancel my subscription and was told that my password was incorrect - although it was the one I used to open my account.

    Sep 25

Well I don't like this months paper pumpkin. Maybe if I'd only paid $5 but mine was the going (over $20) rate. This is worse than the miniature wreath re: value & creativity. Nothing gets under my skin more than all the cute cards shown (I am a card maker) requiring MORE $$$ to b spent on supplies to create them. Ugh!! I have held on for over 6 months (card kits/stamps were AWESOME in beginning) & am thinking it may be time to hit the cancel button too. 😔

When I joined during the ONEDAYDEAL, what did I sign up for? 3 months???

  • Sandy

    Sep 25

Ok First timer for the 5 buck deal but I will not cancel as this is not a great card for me but I am not an instruction type of gal. At first look I could imagine all kinds of fun thing that could be done with this treasure trove of items. For one I have not wanted to buy an expensive stamp set to get a spatter stamp and how I have one for a mere $5 even if I never use any of the other great stuff that came with this kit.

I LOVE this months kit! It's rare that I love the original PP project ideas, but there are so many creative stampers out there and they always come up with amazing alternative cards/ideas for these kits. Pinterest is full of wonderful ideas. Not to mention the fact that there are always a ton of leftover pieces and parts to use on other projects. Come on ladies...get creative!

Long time SU customer, first time Paper Pumpkin. I thought I'd try it for the start price of $5. I'm glad it was cards - that is my preference. I did not make the banner for my cards - could see the recipient wondering what they should do with that, but I did stamp the circle with all combinations of the stamps using both colors & put "happy" in the middle & stamped birthday at the bottom of the card. I filled a single banner flag with confetti & the circle stamped with happy on it - wrapped the twine around twice & tied on front, and thought it was a cute card that I wouldn't normally do. From that perspective, I was happy with the set. I did have some flags that had a small opening on one side from not being sealed completely, but production problems do happen.

Well, I have been a Paper Pumpkin subscriber for quite awhile...I love the flexibility this kit offers! Love making banners! Not all kits are my favorites, but I can certainly make something with the contents of each kit! My mail lady always makes the comment "something special for Cathy". Love these kits!

I'm super surprised at all the negativity here! At the very least this kit has TWO awesome Stampin' Spots AND a very versatile little stamp set great for cardmaking and scrapbooking. Maybe your not impressed with the banner cards but there are so many supplies in here! Personally, I think it is such a great value and LOVE the color combination so much, that I will be buying several refills just for the exclusive washi tape and sequins! I'm a long time Paper Pumpkin kit subscriber and am personally very pleased with them getting creative and changing things up. They stepped it up a notch on this one, and yes it was a wee bit more complicated than usual, but come on ladies...think outside the (Paper Pumpkin) box. Inevitably, all of you who cancel will regret it when the next kit comes out and you love it. They can't make everyone over-the-moon happy every single time...although I think they do a pretty darn good job of trying to do just that while keeping it fresh, on trend, and exclusive. Good luck to all you Naysayers. Maybe you should use your kit to make a banner that says "Be Positive" and hang it up where you can see it everyday.

I am happy when my kit comes and there is something a little bit different. I am loving this month's kit. But, I do think SU! might want to make a new video, with more detailed information about how to use the letters in the kit. I have seen on a couple of places in social media that not only are customers confused, but it seems a lot of demonstrators are as well. A lot of new stampers look to that video or the enclosed instructions for exact instructions. Even to the point of being told you don't have to put "HAPPY" in every banner. I can understand their frustration. Since you do have email addresses for all of the PP subscribers, it would be great if you if you would do something to put the confusion to rest.
