September Paper Pumpkin: Layered Leaves

Some people live for autumn—the hay rides, the apple picking, the ripe fields and harvest moons—not to mention the pretty pumpkins on every windowsill and doorstep. To celebrate this splendid season, why not add to the beauty by making these stunning fall packages to give to a teacher, neighbor, coworker—maybe filled with a package of spiced cider mix, roasted almonds, or pumpkin truffles? Just about anyone would love getting a package or card with layers of leaves and opulent hints of gold—handmade with love!

And while these projects look super-fancy, don’t worry—they’re very easy to assemble. Watch the video for details, then don’t wait—start stamping!

Each Layered Leaves kit comes with 8 embossed pillow boxes, 8 embossed card bases, 8 printed envelopes, 1 sheet die-cut tags, 4 sheets laser-cut leaves, 3 sheets die-cut watercolor leaves, 2 sheets laser-cut gold foil stickers, 1 sheet gold foil tags, 10 mini yellow clothespins, 11 yds. baker’s twine, 50 mini dimensionals, and 150 adhesive dots. And don’t forget the exclusive stamp set and the Cajun Craze ink spot!

Our featured projects are gorgeous, but our concept artists have come up with some equally amazing uses which will make anyone look like a pro!

Check out our maple leaf card and imagine how quickly you could make one just like it. Adhere a piece of paper from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack to a Whisper White note card, stamp a maple leaf on Crumb Cake cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink, fussy cut, and adhere to the card front. Finish up by embellishing with baker’s twine, stamped Emerald Envy leaves, and a cute banner. That’s pretty much perfection right there.

Of course, the rustic autumn leaf garland is equally easy to make and will bring the warmth of fall into your home in just a matter of minutes. Stamp a few maple leaves, clip the leaves, greenery, and tags to baker’s twine, and you’re done! Instant fall glory. Keep it for yourself to use year after year—or give it away as a gift.

Our alternate package would be perfect for gifting any time of year. Use it for a bridal shower, birthday, Mother’s Day, any day. (You really don’t need a special occasion to give someone a treat enclosed in this sweet packaging. Or give it away as a merry unbirthday gift to someone special!) Just cut flowers from the watercolor leaves, stamp a few tiny flowers to peek out from beneath, add some die-cut greenery and a tag, and wrap with baker’s twine. You might want to make a few of these . . .  just because!

Be sure to check out our Pinterest page for more fun ideas, and be sure share your own ideas on social media. We love to see what you come up with!

If you’re a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you’re definitely going to want to buy refills for this kit. (Think how lovely the gift boxes would look next to your guests’ place settings at the Thanksgiving table!) But don’t delay—these projects are so gorgeous that refills will be gone soon!

And speaking of adorable projects, we’ve designed back-to-back, made-to-match kits for October and November. They’re perfect for neighbor gifts, easy to make, and will probably earn you the reputation of being the most creative person on your block! Remember, if you want BOTH adorable kits during a Season of Style, you must subscribe for October’s kit at by 11:50 PM (MT) on October 10. You don’t need both kits to create a complete project, but trust us . . . you won’t want to miss either month!
