Stampin' Up! Announces Partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities®
SALT LAKE CITY (December 11, 2003) - Stampin' Up!®, one of the nation's leading manufacturers and distributors of decorative rubber stamps and accessories, recently donated $100,000 as part of its new national sponsorship of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), an organization that creates, finds, and supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. RMHC is best known for its cornerstone Ronald McDonald House program, which provides temporary housing for families with seriously ill children who are being treated in nearby hospitals.
"An important part of our mission at Stampin' Up! is to make a difference in people's lives by helping them develop their creativity in a way that can strengthen personal relationships as well. Our partnership with RMHC is a valuable part of that commitment," said Shelli Gardner, Stampin' Up! cofounder and CEO.
The Stampin' Up! national sponsorship will consist of recurring donations of time, money, and supplies. Each year Stampin' Up! will make a corporate contribution of $100,000 to RMHC. The company will also design an exclusive stamp set each year and donate part of the proceeds from the sales of that set. This year's set, Heart & Home, has already sold over 20,000 sets since its release in July. Two dollars from the sale of each of those sets has been donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities-a donation of more than $40,000.
"We are excited to move forward with this wonderful partnership. We believe it will be an incredible benefit to children and to the families staying at our Ronald McDonald Houses," said Marty Coyne, vice president of RMHC.
In addition to these monetary commitments, Stampin' Up!'s demonstrators, the independent sales consultants who sell Stampin' Up! products, are making cards that can be used by Ronald McDonald House residents to keep in touch with their loved ones while they are staying at the Ronald McDonald Houses. Since September, nearly 2,000 handmade cards have been donated to Ronald McDonald Houses in the cities where Stampin' Up! has held regional seminars this year: Providence, RI; Portland, OR; and Honolulu, HI. These cards are given to guests staying at Ronald McDonald Houses. Stampin' Up! demonstrators have shown great enthusiasm and national support for the company's philanthropic endeavors. They are also volunteering at local houses to participate with guests in stamping activities and teach the art of decorative rubber stamping as a therapeutic creative outlet.
Stampin' Up! is thrilled to join forces with the RMHC and looks forward to many years of making a difference in the lives of others through caring and compassion.
