Stampin' Up! 2002 Annual Convention
More than 5,000 Stampin' Up! demonstrators in attendance
Salt Lake City, Utah (June 26, 2002) - Thousands of decorative rubber stamping enthusiasts will gather in Kansas City, Missouri July 16-19 to attend Stampin' Up!®'s 2002 annual convention at the Kansas City Convention and Entertainment Center. These Stampin' Up! independent sales consultants, known as demonstrators, will be there to learn about new products and techniques, attend business-building classes, listen to motivational speakers, celebrate their achievements with fellow demonstrators, share creative ideas and be motivated to further develop their own independent Stampin' Up! businesses. Perhaps the most motivating factor to these attendees is the interaction they will experience with Stampin' Up! CEO and cofounder Shelli Gardner. Her success story, passion for stamping and personality inspires and motivates these demonstrators, helping them strengthen their own business.
When Gardner invested her family's entire savings in 1988 to start Stampin' Up!, little did she know that 14 years later, she would have more than recouped her family's investment from the success of her, now, $114 million company. What started out as an idea has grown into one of the largest and fastest growing direct sales companies and has positively influenced thousands of lives while expanding the excitement for rubber stamping.
"I look forward to Stampin' Up! convention every year," says Gardner. "This is a time where I can interact and spend quality moments with the people that share in the passion of stamping and build our business daily-the demonstrators. Convention 2002 is going to be full of fun and surprises with many new launched products and announcements made that everyone will be excited about."
At Convention 2002, themed It Starts With Heart, Stampin' Up! demonstrators will participate in a variety of events taking place. The first full day, Wednesday, July 17, the Opening Session will be held where Gardner and other Stampin' Up! executives will welcome the crowd of more than 5,000 demonstrators, announce and introduce new product and Stampin' Up!'s 2002-2003 Idea Book & Catalog. During the remaining days of the convention, attendees, in addition to social gatherings, general sessions and two awards evenings, will be able to attend Make & Takes, where attendees make craft and business-related projects using provided materials from Stampin' Up!'s newest products. In a large demonstration area, they will view 22 simultaneous, live demonstrations of new products and project ideas. A display area will be set up featuring more than 5,000 decorative stamping projects. Stampin' Up! designers will be demonstrating Stampin' Up!'s home décor techniques in creating a themed room-from walls to coordinating accessories-in the Definitely Decorative® Room. Business-building classes will also be held each day.
