Stampin' Up! Releases New, Revolutionary Stamp Pad

New stamp pad, pastels and spectrum pad all in Stampin' Up!'s exclusive 48 colors

Salt Lake City, Utah (October 1, 2002) - Newly designed stamp pads. Rich pigment and dye inks. Soft pastels. Innovative flip-top design. 48 exclusive colors. What do they have in common? They're all now available in Stampin' Up!®'s premier line of Stampin' Pads®. Stampin' Up!, one of the nation's leading manufacturers and distributors of decorative rubber stamps and accessories, introduces the next generation of stamp pads, featuring a revolutionary, patent-pending stamp pad design combined with quality unlike anything else in the industry. The craftsmanship, convenience and professional results of Stampin' Up!'s expanded line of pigment and dye ink pads are now available in 48 exclusive colors within four coordinating color families: Soft SubtlesT, Bold BrightsT, Rich RegalsT and Earth ElementsT.

"This revolutionary stamp pad combines all the great ideas and designs of individual stamp pads into one incredibly convenient pad," said Shelli Gardner, cofounder and CEO. "Every functional detail was evaluated when we redesigned our ink pads. As a result, our top-of-the-line stamp pad will allow stampers to accomplish any project-scrapbooking pages, cards, crafts or home décor projects-faster and easier."

The Classic Stampin' Pad and Craft Stampin' Pad both feature an innovative flip-top design that stores the inking surface upside-down, so the pad stays juicy between re-inkings. For easier access, the raised stamping surface is presented at an angle. Stampers can also click the pad into a horizontal position and grasp its cleverly designed finger grips to ink extra-large stamps. This is also the perfect pad for discerning stampers who love to watercolor. The top-quality plastic case is flexible, so the lid can be pressed into the ink pad, forming a watercolor-type pallet to dip a brush into the little pool of ink created in the lid. The stamp case is made with ABS plastic, the best on the market, so the lids will bend but not break. The lid also easily clicks open and closed for safer storage and use. All stamp pads are 30 percent larger than previous ones to accommodate larger Stampin' Up! stamps. In addition, each pad has a colored label, visible when stored, identifying the name of the stamp, type of stamp pad and the color.

Each Stampin' Up! ink pad line has been specially designed to meet different craft needs and provides hours and hours of creativity. For added convenience, a complimentary storage container is included when an entire color family (12 pads) from the Classic and Craft line is purchased. Here's a quick reference guide to the Stampin' Pad line:

Classic Stampin' Pad
The Classic line features linen-covered felt pads inked with Stampin' Up!'s popular, fast-drying, non-smearing, acid-free dye inks, ideal for cards, gift wraps and more. The linen fabric covering the 100 percent felt pad provides a more even distribution of ink to the stamp.

Craft Stampin' Pad
The new Craft line presents all 48 exclusive Stampin' Up! colors in fabric-covered foam pads containing thick, rich, fade-resistant pigment inks, perfect for preserving long-term scrapbook pages, embossing, and stamping on fabric and other craft items. This stamp pad is made with foam to hold and release the thicker pigment ink*. This archival and acid-free stamp pad creates permanent, more opaque images, perfect for any craft project.

Spectrum Stampin' Pad
The Classic dye ink is also offered in the new Stampin' Up! Spectrum line rainbow pads composed of selected colors from among Stampin' Up!'s 48, which can be refilled with the Classic dye ink refills. The rainbow pads are available in eight new different color combinations, and each pad features five different colors. These pads are Taffy, Fiesta, Celebration, Pumpkin Patch, Late November, Blue Frost, Parfait and Twist. The specific colors used in each pad are listed on the Spectrum pad label for easy refilling. To keep these wonderful color combinations from bleeding, these pads come in a Kaleidacolor® case, which keeps the colors separate when not in use. Spectrum pads are a quick and easy way to give a burst of color to any image.

*The white Craft foam pad does not have a fabric cover. Due to the excess pigment needed to ensure opaqueness, the ink doesn't readily absorb through the fabric cover. The cover was therefore omitted to enable good ink coverage on the white stamp pad.
