Stampin' Up! Receives Best of State Statue for Manufacturing
Company Also Recognized for Community Development
SALT LAKE CITY (June 21, 2004)-Best of State (www.bestofstate.org), Utah's premier recognition and awards program, recently awarded Stampin' Up!® its prestigious Best of State Statue for manufacturing. Stampin' Up! was also recognized as a winner and medalist in three subcategories: rubber & plastic products manufacturing, community development employer, and community development large business.
"Stampin' Up! is proud to call Utah home and to receive these accolades," said Shelli Gardner, Stampin' Up! cofounder and CEO. "It's our mission to do what we love and share what we love. Whether it's through manufacturing the highest quality rubber stamps for craft projects or helping the community, we love to make a difference in people's lives. We constantly look for opportunities to give back to the state of Utah, and we will continue to do so."
Best of State winners are chosen according to three criteria-achievements in the field of endeavor, innovation and creativity in approaches, and contribution to improving quality of life in Utah. Since its inception 16 years ago, Stampin' Up! has grown into a nationally recognized manufacturer of exclusive artwork and terrific products. Stampin' Up! pioneered a direct-sales approach in the craft industry that has allowed its demonstrators flexibility to build their businesses on their own terms as their lifestyles allow. As Stampin' Up! has expanded, it has sought to give back to the state of Utah and the country through generous contributions including donating more than $150,000 worth of products each year to local schools and nonprofit organizations, a $100,000-a-year donation and partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and a contribution of more than $1.1 million to the September 11th Disaster Relief Fund.
This is the first year Stampin' Up! has been recognized with Best of State awards. The medals were awarded June 19, 2004 at the Best of State Awards Gala.
