Stampin' Up! Donates More Than $82,000 to the Huntsman Cancer Institute

SALT LAKE CITY (January 10, 2005) - Stampin' Up!®, a leading manufacturer of rubber stamps used for crafting and scrapbooking, will donate nearly $83,000 to the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) to assist in the fight against breast cancer. The donation is a result of Stampin' Up!'s Stamp Out Breast Cancer campaign begun during October in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"The majority of our demonstrators are women, so this is an issue in which we all have a very personal interest," says Stampin' Up! CEO and cofounder, Shelli Gardner. "There isn't one of us whose life hasn't been touched by cancer in one way or another. Our demonstrators were very enthusiastic about supporting this worthy cause."

A special "Hope Is . . ." stamp set was manufactured specifically for the effort using symbolic pink rubber and containing four inspirational, coordinating stamps for use in card making and scrapbooking. The stamp sets were promoted through Stampin' Up!'s direct-sales representatives, also known as demonstrators. For each set sold, Stampin' Up! is donating $2 to HCI to help stamp out breast cancer. More than 43,000 national demonstrators in the United States and Canada were given the opportunity to participate in the campaign, and their efforts surpassed the company's goal of selling 37,500 stamp sets by November 19. In total, 41,289 sets were sold.

HCI is the home of the High Risk Breast Cancer Research Clinic and a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), a 19-member alliance of the world's leading cancer centers. HCI continually shares its research and findings throughout the United States through NCCN. Additional members of the NCCN include The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, City of Hope Cancer Center, and Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, to name a few.

Stampin' Up! is proud to be a partner in the fight against breast cancer and to support the Huntsman Cancer Institute in its endeavor to find a cure.
