Over a Half Million Dollars Donated to Tsunami Relief

SALT LAKE CITY (March 21, 2005) - In response to the tsunami disaster in South Asia, Stampin' Up!®, one of the nation's leading manufacturers and distributors of decorative rubber stamps and accessories, immediately sent a corporate donation of $250,000 to Save the Children, an international nonprofit organization that provides protection for children around the world. In addition, Stampin' Up!'s independent sales consultants, called demonstrators, were challenged to raise an additional $250,000 to support the relief efforts.

Like many across the globe, Stampin' Up! demonstrators heard of the catastrophe and wanted to assist. "I saw the tragedy and wanted to help, says Sharon Wolfley, Stampin' Up! independent demonstrator, "Participating in this fundraiser allowed me to do my part."

As part of its Making a Difference program, the company launched its "Relief from A to Z" fundraiser. From January 1-February 28, 2005, Stampin' Up! contributed $7.50 CAN/$5.00 US from the sale of each of its 20 available alphabet stamp sets to the relief effort.

In two short months, demonstrators sold more than 60,000 alphabet stamp sets. Meeting and exceeding the original goal of $250,000, demonstrators in the US and Canada raised more than $325,000 US, bringing Stampin' Up!'s total contribution to over $575,000 US. The funds raised were sent to Save the Children on a weekly basis throughout the length of the fundraiser to ensure the money was readily available.

"Words cannot express the dimensions of the grief, pain, and disruption of life that the people in South Asia have suffered and will continue to bear for many months. In the face of such a disaster, I knew Stampin' Up! demonstrators would want to respond," says Shelli Gardner, Stampin' Up! CEO and cofounder.

Stampin' Up! sent the final installment of its donation on March 2, 2005. Lori Redmer of Save the Children says, "Stampin' Up!'s generous gift to Save the Children's Asia Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Fund is most appreciated. In the midst of unimaginable devastation and loss, the spirit to help those in need is strong, and we are extremely grateful for the support."
